Vice President- Dawn Punches
In 1974 I became a member of the Hopkins Chapter. It was a time when females were not part of the organization. My girlfriend and I ignited the female energy and encouraged other girls to join the chapter. I was an active member for four years. I embraced everything I could be challenged with. The chapter was the highlight of my high school years. Looking back, the program and the leadership skills that I gained took me through my adult life.
I helped charter the Hopkins FFA Alumni 37 years ago when the Hopkins Chapter program was hanging in the balances and being threatened by the board of education to be dissolved. Our group of four took to the challenge and I am glad we did for many reasons.
My family life began soon after my graduation. I married my husband Brian of what is now 42 years. During those years we had two sons. My oldest son took to the field and woods as a hunter. My youngest chose the leadership, livestock and show dog world. I am very proud of them as they are both hard working, driven and successful in their endeavors.
In between keeping up with the two boys, whether if be tracking deer or chasing to the next show, I worked at Perrigo. In my workplace, I was a Quality and Compliance Coordinator. I led many process improvement initiatives, was the technical writer for the standard operating procedures in our department and enjoyed playing a key role and could help the company improve and grow. After 33 years of employment, I chose the path of retirement.
Retirement was a blessing since it gave me more time to play more of an active role in the alumni. I find it very rewarding coaching and watching the members achieve their goals. I love to build those members up and help them find their potential. In the alumni I am active in writing grant proposals and work hard to ensure our funds are stable enough to support the chapter activities and needs.
For these reasons I believe in the mission to give back to the strongest foundational leadership development organization out there.

Secretary- Sue Sebright
I have been an alumni member since 1997. When my son, Tony was in 8th grade, he decided that he wanted to be a member. I was so uninformed about FFA that I thought that we were going to have to raise animals. Mr. Brown was the advisor at the time. He was getting ready to go to nationals in Kansas City. He needed a female chaperone and since I had access to a full sized van, he asked me. That was my first real introduction to what FFA is. I have stayed on all these years because I love to see the young members grow, gain confidence and discover who they are. They are our future leaders and every time I go to a state or national convention, my worries about the future of agriculture and our country in general are diminished. I graduated from Wayland high school. They did not have a chapter there, so I had no opportunity to know any members and learn what FFA was all about. I married my high school sweetheart, Brent almost 52 years ago. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I have had many jobs in my lifetime, my favorites involved working on different local government boards. My hobbies include upholstering furniture and gardening. I also enjoy traveling. My favorite city to visit is New Orleans. I love our alumni family and hope to have many more years with them.
